Mir Shamal is an independent Kurdish musician, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, sound engineer and AI visual creator from Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan.
He creates every part of his songs—from lyrics, music and concept to AI visuals and production. His work moves across styles and instruments, with metal at its core and electric guitar as his principal instrument. He founded the one-man project Cyaxares and is the frontman of Dark Phantom.

Mir Shamal.
Mir Shamal is an independent Kurdish musician, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, sound engineer and AI visual creator from Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan.
He began making music in 2009 and released his first album in 2014. Since then, he has continued to work across multiple projects and genres. Although his practice spans different musical styles, metal remains its primary foundation, with electric guitar at the center of his instrumental work.
Mir Shamal creates the lyrics, music, concept, AI visuals and production for his songs. He founded Cyaxares and is its sole member, writing, performing, recording and producing the music with full creative control. He is the frontman of Dark Phantom, an Iraqi metal band.
He has toured and performed in many EU countries and across the Middle East. His work brings together heavy music, experimentation and a perspective shaped by Kurdistan and the wider metal scene. He continues to develop his work as an independent artist, musician and producer.
